An Academically Accelerated School
Toddlers - Elementary
Jesus Said, "Feed My Lambs." John 21:15
The Academy of Christian Education is very excited to participate in a Read-a-Thon Fundraiser this March. During the last two weeks of March, our students will set aside extra time in class (above and beyond their current reading time as they are able) devoted to reading!
Our students will read independently, do reading activities, serve as guest readers to younger students, or have guest readers read to them!
Here’s how it works:
- Each student has an individual online profile through www.read-a-thon.com.
- From your student's profile, you can invite friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc., to support your child’s reading.
Contributions are made online so they can be made from anywhere in the world!
- Contributions will go toward the Net Climber that we would like to add to the playground at ACE.
- Reading will be tracked by the teachers at ACE.
Here’s how you can help:
- When you receive a flyer with your child’s individual code, follow the instructions to log onto www.read-a-thon.com to set
up their profile.
- Invite your friends and family to participate and support ACE and your child’s reading through your child’s profile on
www.read-a-thon.com. Invitations can be sent via email, Facebook, Twitter, text, Pinterest, or you can print flyers to
distribute. Because giving is tracked individually per student, your child can earn prizes based on the funds that are
contributed on their behalf.
- You are welcome to change the verbiage of the email sent from Read-a-Thon.
We hope you will join us as we put an additional focus on reading this March!

March is Youth Art Month! ACE is thrilled to have art pieces from 40 of our Senior Kindergarten and Elementary students represented at the Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE Arts) from March 4 - 11th as a part of the GRACE Youth Arts Exhibition. Only a select few schools who participate in signature art education program are included in this exhibition, and we are honored to be included! Please feel welcome to check out the exhibit and see some of our students’ artwork at the GRACE Art Gallery at Reston Town Center.
The Academy of Christian Education had the privilege of participating in the Scripps National Spelling Bee this year. Only one representative was eligible to compete in the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee on behalf of our school, so each elementary class held Class Spelling Bees to elect a representative from which a school representative could be found. We are very proud of our class winners, Aayan P., Darin D., Caroline S., Riya G., Babiha B., and Nanda P., who went on to complete in our school-wide Spelling Bee. Our students did an amazing job and were extremely impressive in their spelling abilities, correctly spelling words such as, “eucalyptus,” “moiety,” “castellated,” “interminableness,” “prestidigitation.” After a very close competition, Babiha B. won our school-wide Spelling Bee and represented ACE at the regional competition. Congratulations to all of our Spelling Bee Winners!
Check out some highlights from our school wide Spelling Bee HERE.
Congratulations to those who represented the Academy at the ACSI Regional Geography Bee in February. We had 8 representatives from our Third and Fourth Grade classes compete in the Geography Bee. The ACSI Geography Bee is for students 3rd through 8th grade.
ACE Students scored the highest in their age brackets of any school. Akshat R., Ryan S., and Leah W. received Red Ribbons, having answered 20 or more questions correctly. Nanda P., Abhiram K., Ishanth P., Adithya P., and Riya P. received Blue Ribbons for correctly answering 30 or more questions! We are extremely proud of all of our students - both for their excellence in academic achievement and the quality of their character and behavior in competition. Well done!
